Summer 2018 Children’s Theatre Workshop
Vermillion Community Theatre, acting in partnership with Dakota Players, an outreach of the Black Hills Playhouse, is pleased to bring the play "Treasure Hunt" to Vermillion this summer. The workshop will be offered June 11-15 at the Vermillion High School Performing Arts Center, with performances on June 15th at 7 p.m. This weeklong workshop casts up to fifty local children with suitable parts designed for every age, skill and experience level. The production experience will include five days of intensive rehearsals in which the lines, staging, songs and dances will be learned. In addition to the more challenging roles, older students will serve as assistant directors and learn how to operate sound and lighting equipment. Two actor/directors from Dakota Players of South Dakota will play major roles in the production.
Registration may be made on the Vermillion Parks and Rec website. Registration is $35.00. Rehearsals are 1:00 to 3:00 and 3:30-5:30 Monday through Thursday. Actors will stay on Friday until after the performance at 7:00. A daily snack will be provided along with a hot dog dinner on Friday night. Please note on the registration if there are food concerns.
Dakota Players is committed to providing quality children's programming using local artists for writing plays and music, designing sets and costumes.
